This initiative is not a one-off event – UzhNU staff and students plan to continue tidying up the areas that serve as landmarks for the university and the regional centre as a whole.
The tidying up of the UzhNU Botanical Garden and its future development were discussed during a meeting between the university management, the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration and the district authorities. It was with the clean-up of this well-known Uzhhorod location that #EcoCleanup_at_Shakht began today.
Staff and students of UzhNU, officials from the regional and district administrations, environmental activists and simply active local residents collected several hundred bags of various rubbish. The rubbish was sorted: some will be sent for recycling, some will be used for heating. Importantly, this campaign will not be a one-off event – UzhNU staff and students plan to continue tidying up the areas that serve as the calling cards of the university and the regional centre as a whole.
